I was SO HAPPY that I impulsively decided to wear that hat. I’ve never worn a baseball cap running, but it kept the sleet out of my face!
The first four miles were mostly downhill (down from the Highlands!) the second half was uphill. And into the wind! But I was freezing at that point which just made me run faster!

And our last mile was the fastest in 7:52! We ran an 8:46 pace overall — significantly faster than last week’s 10k (9:18 pace) and on a much hillier course!! Hooray!!!!! Do you see how red my poor hand is?!?! Brrr!! That’s from the leash and the Garmin!

A personal distance record for Pippa Cordelia! She’s very prissy, and I don’t think she was a fan of getting soaking wet! And the puddle jumping. But she was a trooper and even had energy left to chase a squirrel when we were two blocks from home!

Boyd was in a really good mood after we left him home alone for 70 minutes during our run. Seriously!! After the waffles we took a little Caturday nap! We spent the rest of the afternoon warming up with Starbucks and then venturing out grocery shopping! So happy we got that done so we can really relax tomorrow.

How did you spend your Saturday? We saw some people putting up Christmas lights!!! :) :) :) :) Next weekend, we’ll be doing 10! I’m glad we chose to run out in the elements today (great training!), but I think once was enough. So I’ll retreat to the treadmill next week if there’s bad weather.
